A derivative work is anything derived or referenced from a pre-existing
creation. Incorporation of any image involving manipulation, cloning,
copying, tracing, retouching, inclusion in montage, shrinking,
stretching, darkening, lightening, use as artist reference, or
in any other way changing the original is considered a derivative
work.
The creator of the original work also owns copyright to all works
derived from the original. Therefore, if all or part of your work
has been derived from the original work, you do not own the copyright
to the original or derivative work.
